"My Baby & Me" is a special feature that spins the story under the theme of "childcare and work" through interviews with senior moms and dads.

Vol.07 has a wide range of athletes as a trainer, such as serving as a head athletic trainer for the 7 -person rugby Japanese national team, and has also developed a business that develops and dispatches WIS Co., Ltd. WIS Co., Ltd. I talked to Haruko Hirai, who raises two children, 3rd and 5, while working part -time lecturers. Mr. Hirai, who is a former women's rugby Japanese national team Ayaka Suzuki, is called "Super Woman", and is encouraged by the fact that she is encouraged to face childbirth and childcare, which is a "wall" of women's careers in the sports industry. There should be many.

Former women's rugby Japanese national player. Since the selection of representatives in 2007, in addition to the Rio Olympics in the 7 -person rugby, two participation in the World Cup, and the 15 -person rugby twice, the dawn of women's rugby for a long time until retirement in 2023. One of the players who has supported the period. I have been with Hirai since the Japanese national era. "Haruko -san is just a superwoman. Anyway, the energy is amazing."

First of all, please tell us about the work called "Athletic Trainer". What is it?

It is a job that performs health management, physical training, conditioning, etc. so that athletes can perform the best performance. The first is to protect the lives of the players, as well as first aid and athletic rehabilitation.

Is that a national qualification?

It's an American national qualification. In the United States, where sports are very active, the position of athletic trainers is highly valued. You can study at a four -year university (currently graduated from graduate school) and take a national exam after an internship.

After studying abroad, you will be a trainer of the 7 -person women's rugby Japan national team. How do you do it?

Originally, when I was an athletic trainer in the United States, I thought, "I want to get involved in women's rugby when I return to Japan." So, the boss in the United States was a trainer for a 7 -person rugby team, but at that time I knew that the Rio Olympics would be a formal competition from the Rio Olympics. I decided to return to Japan in 2011, deciding, "Let's meet again in Japan." So I just applied for a trainer open call for participants.

amazing. It was realized early after returning to Japan. How was the selection of the open call for?

It was called one by one to the training camp, and there was a screening like a field interview.

What kind of trainer are you in charge of now?

I am still involved in the Japanese rugby national team, and the rest is a jiu -jitsu player or a powerlifting player. You are involved in various sports players. At first, I was watching both gender, but now I'm looking at women athletes only to specialize in my specialty. I am working hard to say, "Speaking of female athletes support Hirai."

Currently, he is a trainer and also runs a company that develops and dispatches female trainers. What was the background to starting up the company?

When a child is born and it is difficult to go to the site as a trainer, when thinking, "How can I contribute to society?" I decided to launch a corporation to train and dispatch a trainer in 2022.
There are quite a few sports trainers that can be considered on a volunteer -based. However, since the trainers could not eat, I chose the form of a stock company instead of a general incorporated association so that it could be spread as a job to get money as a professional.

What is the dispatch destination?

Some individuals are individuals and some sports teams. Recently, the number of human resources dispatching childcare services that incorporate their own exercise programs at sporting events is increasing.

This service is really good. The audience will be grateful, of course, the organizer and the child -rearing generation will come, and the future fans can be fostered.

Also, players and venue staff can leave children. I hope that both customers, players and staff will not be able to do it because there are small children.

I think that you are a trainer and a various tasks as a trainer, but what percentage do you work?

The ideal is to increase the movement as a manager (laughs), but the current situation is half. In addition to training guidance, there are many cases of lectures, and there are also part -time lecturers at universities, so there are still many things that move on their own.

To a part -time instructor! What kind of theme will you be given?

Symposiums are talked to vocational schools and students from college, such as "women to work in the sports world", and "knowledge and skills necessary to support women athletes", such as menstrual and returning support. I often talk at seminars.

I wonder if I'm a lecturer or lecturer, and I think I'm working quite busy.

My husband is good at washing and cleaning, and the work is mainly remote work, so he will be happy to respond even when he is late at night. It seems difficult for the child to say that "mom is good" (laughs)

This time, I brought a memorable item with my child. Is it okay to show me?

This one! My daughter (5 years old) drew. My daughter loves drawing and draws something every day. So, my husband made the picture that I drew on Mother's Day into a badge.

img05

amazing! That's nice!

He always draws a picture full of smiles and gives me saying, "Do your best work." I guess I'm just angry (laughs). This badge is my treasure.

Do you want children to play sports?

yes. I don't know what I'm interested in, so I'm going to get as many sports as possible and take me to various experiences. The final "do" and "do not do" are left to the person. There are quite a few places where they are raising children from the perspective of athletic trainers, and I think that the characteristics may fit in the climbing system. I'm secretly thinking that I would take me to the Olympics by bouldering (laughs).

In addition to pursuing the trainer's path, I think that it is working quite powerfully until the trainer grows while raising children now, but what is at the root of the driving force?

After all, when I became pregnant and gave birth, I had a great experience that I could not keep up with my body change. When I said, "Oh, my back hurts," I was surprised that I knew as a trainer, "I should be fine." In particular, it was very difficult to go to graduate school at the time of childbirth (laughs).
However, there was not much research on postpartum care in Japan, so I read overseas literature myself and said, "Oh, I should have done this" and "Oh, I can't do this." Fortunately, I had studied abroad and read English, so I was able to learn by gathering overseas papers and information, but I thought that there were many women who were in trouble, so I aggregated. I feel like I'm thinking of being taught.

img06

I was saying lightly, but did you go to graduate school after studying abroad? And it's about raising children ...?

Yes (laughs). Originally, my life plan said, "Go to graduate school during pregnancy." It was very difficult to give birth to a second childbirth during the first pregnancy (laughs).

That's amazing ... Did you study as a trainer at graduate school?

yes. I was mainly studying trauma and disability in women's rugby. In the future, I would like to study the exercise after childbirth. There are so many research after athlete after childbirth, there are few in Japan, and there are a little in the United States and Canada. While referring to them, I would like to collect data about the exercise that suits the Japanese body.

I think it's very grateful for a female athlete who is raising children, but do you have many such voices?

I often hear such voices. In the first place, the ratio of the trainer is 5: 1, and most of the time, a female player has a male trainer. So it is often said that "I can speak anything with confidence." In addition, there are many cases of female trainers who do not know much about menstruation and postpartum training, so I hope that such research will expand.

Is it possible to train with a baby in postpartum training?

Of course, welcome! Rather, I also want to see my baby. You can leave your baby sleep on a stroller or mat, or you can participate as a weight of weight training (laughs).

img07

Finally, please tell us about future prospects and what you want to send to society.

I want to make sure that women involved in sports do not give up what they want to do. There are various options, and I want to make it a society where I can choose it myself. Not only athletes, but also coaches and trainers, there are quite a few women who say, "I can't continue if my child is born." To prevent this from happening, in the soil called sports, even if there is a child, I can go to the site if I want it, and I hope that even if there are no children, I will create such an environment where I can make use of my strengths as a woman on site.
